Anddd I cut myself in the kitchen again 🙈 Thankful for biodegradable bandages. These ones are black because they are enriched with activated charcoal to help draw out impurities and infections in minor wounds 🖤
How often do you use band aids of destruction to masks the dark emotions or hurt that comes up for you?
I raise my hand high with this one but also have learnt that the more you resist something, the more it persists.
What types of band aids do you or have you used?
For me, in the past, I've used many.
Recreation drugs, alcohol, valium, sex, cigarettes, food and even participating in behavior that could have caused me harm.
These days, I don't apply the band aids 'as often'. I do try to lean into each experience, feel it for what it is and treat it with respect and allow it to process.
But I am human, and we are all beautifully imperfect and have our human moments.
I guess the trick is to be able to catch yourself when you are slipping into these moments of avoidance that leave you reaching for these 'temporary feel-good fixes' instead of processing the emotion you are avoiding.
I'd love to hear what 'band aids' you have used to mask your own darkness or pain you didn't want to acknowledge?
Are you able to catch yourself when you are doing this?
And if so, how do you bring yourself back out of the avoidance?
Please share below.... we are all so wonderfully different and you never know who may read your comment and learn a new healthier way to process instead of avoid. .
I found an article yesterday on #travelingtips for those with #IBS, and found it interesting. You can see it in the comments. They give a few tips and checklists of how to manage being away from home with IBS:
1. Skip the local delicacies
2. If you’re constipation-prone, prep with stool softeners 😐
3. If you’re diarrhea-prone, reduce stress before flying 🙄
4. Begin taking a probiotic a few days before travel (this one is actually useful)
5. Keep up your healthy habits to avoid stress
6. Learn the local tongue (Incase you have to ask to go to the bathroom) 🤔
7. Be flexible with your IBS traveling strategy because there’s no easy answer and stress can hit at any time.😣
Here’s their travel checklist: * Bring snacks you know are safe. 👍
* Get an aisle seat if flying. 😂✈️💩
* Try a stress-reducing meditation app in transit. (No time for that, but ok)
* Take a pre-travel probiotic. 👍🤩
* Prioritize your usual sleep and exercise routine. * Learn key bathroom and food phrases in your destination’s language. 🤔
Look, IBS truly stinks. I know. As someone who has had severe IBS my entire life (and traveled constantly worldwide), I have tried all of the above things over and over. Not many of them really work or solve the root issue. And I can say that, especially since I don’t struggle anymore. I take my probiotic with digestive enzymes, my Biocleanse magnesium, and my pink drink with microbes daily. All my supplements work together for optimal gut health, and even under high stress and long travel days, my IBS is gone and my bathroom visits are what they should be #letsbereal. No meditation app can “breathe” me through to those kind of amazing results.
It’s a whole heck of a lot easier than all that mess 👆👆👆 which apparently doesn’t guarantee a dang thing, except to be prepared to have a mess. 💁♀️
Soooo #funnystory ....i got pretty hammered on Saturday night😅 i dropped a cigarette in my cleavage and #burnt the shit out of my boob, bra, and dress😭 anyways...i thought i had bandaids so i could keep something on it so i dont have a big gross scar between my boobs and i guess i ran out :( so i went and got #mylittlepony and #trolls#glitter#bandaids . #Woopwoop for being an adult
Detailed pictures of the first product I made on my thesis.
The topic being 'Destruction after wars- paying a tribute to the martyrs of Pak Army'. My theme was mainly about the wars that took place between India and Pakistan. After the partition. (no this wasn't an anti-india Project 😭) I just wanted to share the idea about what our army goes through. And what they went through after the partition. And i have, handsdown, never seen anyone paying a tribute to the Pakistan Army via textiles.
Coming to the product.: This life size panel includes alot of newspaper articles, that had headlines regarding all the wars that took place (1947,1865,1971,1999). that i painted and stained a bit of red, to give it a blood/war feel
Then a few samples That i created with band-aids. That's right, I used sunnyplasts 😂🙌🏻 and a few samples that had crepe bandages that i wove. And some had hand and foot impressions on it.
This, in itself was a very difficult task. But somehow(Alhumdulilah) i did the best I could.
I got these canvas stretched because that way it could give alot of samples a bit of a height and variation. 🇵🇰 yes you guys can place an order for any of the frames you want. Hmu if you want to place an order. 🇵🇰 materials used:
•articles/ digitalprinted •crepe bandage •bandaids •acrylics •suede 🇵🇰 swipe to see a bit of a closer look at the frames. 🇵🇰 what do you think? Excited to see other products too?
My ode to a legend ✨ .
I wrote this on a whim in the midst of doing extremely last minute holiday shopping last week.😄I was reflecting on the year while commuting through the NYC subways and felt immensely grateful that despite having a difficult start to the year there were many bright spots. Some of them being the time I spent in rooms full of kindred spirits, led by the legend herself, Miss @pameladesbarres ✨ .
So I want to wish a happy and prosperous new year to all the dolls I've mingled with this year in NY, LA, or cyberspace. (@rnrnurse62@litduo@musesandstuffpodcast@andrea_holz@eerielindiana@cass_master_ to name a few) I feel blessed to be a part of this family of dolls and look forward to all the stories we have yet to live and write. A big enormous and eternal thank you to Miss P for being our fairy godmother in writing. You are a legend in every way and the warmest ray of California sunshine. Xo🙏 .
NY Doll Amanda ❤ .
