  • Y'all know my goto bookstagram picture has three things - a book (obviously 😅), the ocean and a sunset. So, presenting yet another one of those, because I am out of ideas. Life's been pretty hectic lately, I've barely made any progress with my current read, not even half way through The Mermaid's Daughter 📖 Seriously, is it Friday yet! How has your week been so far, reading anything fun? . . #booktimistic #fortheloveofreading #sunsetreading #mustlovebooks #bookenthusiast #readallthebooks

  • Good evening everyone! Hope you guys had a wonderful day 💕 . Eliza And Her Monster and All The Bright Places are probably one of the most important books in the Young Adult section. I think we need more books that are focusing on Mental Health and teach teens ( and adults) that it's okay to feel sad sometimes and that it's important to open up about your struggles! For myself, these books still helping me to deal with my mental health every day.

  • Happy holidays everyone!❤️ I am hustling away this weekend getting ready for Christmas! I hope y’all are having an amazing weekend!☺️ . QOTD: Do you have any holiday traditions? A: My sister and I always stay up late watching Christmas movies on Christmas Eve! There’s always hot coco and sugar cookies baking and we watch The Santa Claus, and have every year since we were kids! Now we also watch our other favorites like The Holiday, Love Actually and Home Alone, but it’s always a special treat.☺️💕 . Christmas is my favorite time of year because of the holiday spirit and this GORGEOUS Wren candle from @burningbrightlibrary smells like Christmas in a jar. It’s amazing! With hints of cinnamon, clove, blood orange and pine, this is the candle of the season!❤️ . Wren is a part of the limited edition seasonal witch candles, so she’s only available for the wintertime! If you want to grab one along with some other seasonal scents, use MILLREADS10 to save 10%! The shop will be closed for the holidays starting tomorrow so put all your last minute orders in now!🤗😘 . . #bookishholidays18 - Book and tree #bookstagramreadsdecember - Frost and Starlight #ohmybookmaschallenge - Red and green #decinbooks18 - Book by foreign author

  • “We live and breathe words...It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them.” - Clockwork Prince🖤 . Hey guys! Since I’ve been able to read faster than I can post, here are two reviews for you all today, the first two books in the Internal Devices series. I’m currently reading the third one and loving this series! Definitely another top fav!☺️ . Clockwork Angel ☆☆☆☆ I loved the first book in this series! I thought it was really imaginative and I adored the Victorian English setting. Something about Shadowhunters in 19th-century London was very intriguing, fascinating and completely awesome. Clare did a great job setting up the plot, characters and conflict. She adds class and humor to a timeless story about a girl trying to find her place in a giant, new world! . Clockwork Prince ☆☆☆☆☆ This one completely SHATTERED my heart. There was so much built up from the first book that was expanded upon in this one, especially the love connections. I was torn and broken by what these characters went through and felt so attached and connected to them. Everything about this story was so romantic, from the time period, to the fashion, to the conflict and emotions. It was an amazing read and SO incredibly hard to put down! Clare continues to write in a way only she can, dropping major bombshells, heartbreaks, and keeping readers guessing until the very end. This series definitely made me fall in love with the Shadowhunters universe again!🖤 . QOTD: If you could be a vampire, werewolf, faerie, warlock or Shadowhunter, which would you choose? A: Black is a color I wear all the time...so I’m going to go with Shadowhunter☺️🖤 . . This beautiful candle from @novellyyours was included in the November Shadows and Ruins candle box and is inspired by our favorite Shadowhunter bookworm, Will Herondale! It smells like rain, tea, books and ozone, completely perfect for him! . If you want to grab some bookish goodies from Novelly Yours, use MILLIONREADS10 to save!🤗

  • #OnThisDay, 243 years ago, Jane Austen was born. What’s your favorite work of hers? ••• A bit odd perhaps but Persuasion was actually the first work of hers I read. I have great fondness for her classics P&P and S&S, but what made me appreciate miss Austen herself most of all were her juvenilia— “Love & Freindship”, “The History of England” and many more— they’re so ridiculous and brilliant ✨ ••• This glitter pin features Jane Austen on a yellow glittery background, available for sale in my etsy shop. Glittery details are more visible in the video I posted. 💛

  • Some non fiction I’m looking forward to getting to In 2019. I love reading non fic and I have quite a few other books that are non fiction to get to as well as these. I have read some of the Russel brand book and I really enjoyed him making the 12 step program accessible to daily life, over the years I’ve developed some unhealthy coping mechanisms for my anxiety and depression and I remember from what I read the 12 steps can be applied to everyday life and issues to help you cope with them better. #nonfictionbooks #nonfiction #nonfictionlover #books #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #booksofig #avidreader #readreadread

  • Normal People By Sally Rooney 🥫 . . As I read more I think my criteria for an excellent book changes. Yes, it needs to be written well, and it should make me feel things, strongly. But now I think an excellent book also needs to challenge me; there needs to be a plot line that makes me think differently, or the introduction of a new narrative, one that exists outside of my comfort zone. I value a story that forces me to think differently because really that's the only way to become a better person. 📖 . . Normal People meets all of my criteria for an excellent book. It was difficult to read at times, and there were moments I couldn't immediately relate to, but that's why it is a brilliant read. Rooney has masterfully captured the intricacies of a romantic relationship, attempting to navigate the trials and tribulations of growing up. I'd recommend this to fans of Tartt, Groff and beautiful stories. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 . . If you've read this and want to talk more about it then don't hesitate to message me. I feel like I could spend hours talking about it. I can see why @waterstones chose it as their book of the year; it's definitly one of my favourite reads of 2018. 👏 . . #reviewswithhope 👐 . #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #openbook #bookreview #review #booklover #bookworm #bibliophile #booknerd #normalpeople #sallyrooney #waterstones #reader #reading #avidreader #books

  • 📖 to 🎥 December 21st, 2018. Save the date. No, it’s not my wedding, this is way better, it’s the release date for Bird Box on Netflix! I hope you can all make it 😆!! Tell everyone, and don’t forget your survival guide: •Blindfold for when you go outside •Bike bell to alert loved ones •Twine, to find your way back home •Snack to regain energy • Once you’re back home, lower your blindfold, and watch Bird Box on Netflix! —— Thank you to @harpercollinsuk for sending me my very own survival kit!! I’m not usually a fan of TV tie-in covers but this one is spot on, it matches the plot perfectly, and if you don’t love Sandra Bullock, then I don’t even know why you’re here 😜 —— I have read, I have loved, I have continuously recommended Bird Box. All the stars for the book, and I’m so excited to watch the movie! —— “Five years after an ominous unseen presence drives most of society to suicide, a survivor and her two children make a desperate bid to reach safety.”

  • Been reading a ton and I really liked each of these books. They are all very different from each other but all great stories. . . We are water by Wally Lamb and Truly, Madly, Guilty by Liane Moriarty we’re both slow starts for me but ended up as satisfying reads. I do have to confess that I almost stopped ready Truly because the character of Clementine, a cellist, just annoyed me to no end. But I stuck it out. It was a light read and I enjoyed it. . . The Address by Fiona Davis was perhaps the most surprising of the 3 as I’m not super into historical fiction. This one had me from the first page! . . Go buy a book for someone. Reading is a huge coping skill for me and I can’t imagine not always having book within reach!

  • A Traveller's Year (4/5 by Goodreads) . A Traveller's Year is an anthology of extracts from diaries, journals and letters, two or three for each day of the year, on the subject of travel and exploration. The extracts convey men and women's experiences of travel and discovery throughout the centuries from classical times to the early twenty-first century, with an emphasis on the period 1750-1950, the classic era of both European exploration and diary-writing. The authors of the pieces range from famous explorers such as Captains Cook and Scott to modern travel writers journeying through the contemporary world, from people who pushed back the boundaries of geographical knowledge to people who wrote about what they did on their summer holidays. . Memories of a Lost World: Travels Through the Magic Lantern (5/5 by Goodreads) . Memories of a Lost World: Travels through the Magic Lantern takes you on a fascinating journey back through time to a pre-globalised world where regional customs and national cultures were as distinctive as they were diverse. From the bustling streets of Victorian London and the ruins of ancient Egypt to the temples of Japan and the tribesmen of New Guinea, this publication explores the world through a captivating collection of over 800 magic lantern slide images . #malaysiamembaca #bangsamembacabangsaberjaya #avidreader #bigbadwolfbooks #book #books #bookstagram #bookworm #booklover #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bookme #bookshelf #bookaholic #booklove #BookNow #bookphotography #booking #bookstagrammer #bookporn #booklovers #bookstore #booksofinstagram #reading #readinglist #readingtime #readings #readingissexy

  • • Werbung/Advertisement • Can you believe the gorgeousness of this soap? Me neither! @behindthepagesstore did a wonderful job creating exactly the soap I imagined! The colours are perfect and it smells amazing 😍 Did you know that you can create your own ship soap? You can ship yourself with any character whose scent is on the website, you can chose your ship name, your scents, your colours, if you want your part of the soap to have glitter, anything. It’s so much fun to come up with everything and then see the final product Gina created 😍 I adore mine and I’m going to have to order another one with another character 🙌🏼 And of course you can get 10% these soaps, too! Just use my code STARLIGHT10 at the checkout 😊 . I’ll be mostly reading today and maybe watch a Christmas movie to two. And of course, taking photos! You can never have too many of those 😂 . Who would you like to ship yourself with and which scents would you use? 💜

  • Charged, Challenged, and Challenged!!! by Kenny Marshburn. 📖 🎄 #QOTD: What was your greatest challenge you ever overcame? 🎄 This is a testimonial book about the author who suffered and is the survivor of nasal pharynx cancer- written from Christian perspective. I recommend this book to all who suffer cancer, in depression (like me), and to those who need assurance that the Lord still does miracles. 🎄 ~To do class presentation was my greatest challenge for an introvert like me back then (now I'm an ambivert). I sighed and just read my notes whenever it was my turn to do my presentation in high school. I abhorred at the word 'presentation' itself. Things changed by the time I was in pre-university level. Thank God for a good teacher like Sir Peter. Now, I will be excited when given the opportunity to do presentation. There's no doubt I will be nervous about it but the euphoria to do presentation is greater. 🎄 My full review? Link in the bio.

  • How have your posts changed since you started Bookstagram? 🤔 . . I've always loved a flatlay, with emphasis on the highlight and shadow, because sometimes a book all alone is all you need for an eye-catching post. But I do think that the creative people of bookstagram have inspired me to play more with angles and light, to create something more playful. My captions haven't changed all that much; I've always done reviews and little life updates, but I am more aware of the power of the hashtag now (without them becoming an infinite list) and I really enjoy asking questions to find out more about everyone. 🤗 . . What sort of things do you like about your posts? Do you prefer a particular angle or location for your pictures? Or do you rock a punny review hashtag, or qotd? Is there anything you'd like to do more with your posts? 🤷‍♀️ . . #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #booklover #bookworm #booknerd #openbook #bibliophile #reading #avidreader #bookclub #bookphotography #views #flatlay

  • What is your favorite bookish date? . To be honest, I couldn't recall one romantic date from a fantasy or sci-fi book. So many of those couples fall in love in the midst of life-threatening events. I'm not even sure there is ever a true date for any of those couples. Or, if there is, I can't remember at the moment. Or, I haven't read the book that corrects this injustice. And, then in all my romance books, their dates are okay but I wouldn't say I have a favorite from amongst them. So, I turned to Disney and BAM! Duh, I totally love Rapunzel and Eugene's date when they reach the city. They go sightseeing, try new foods, dance in the square, go to the library, eat cupcakes, hide from the guards, and then go on a boat to watch the lanterns. *sighs* Yep. That is my favorite bookish date. Just add coffee and it's perfect. 😁😍 . #onceuponabookmas - Sleigh Ride

  • Hey guys how's it going??? Today is day 7 of #sevendaysofcreativechaotics!!! Last day of the hashtag but to be honest if everyone loved this as much as I did thank you I truly appreciate it. This post is to represent an old favorite that I got my younger cousin for Christmas last year (now he wants one of the new series) I remember getting the first book from the library in middle school and loving it and then reading all but last Olympian all at once on a trip (I only recently got last Olympian last year 😨 so no spoilers please) but getting these bookmarks from @creativechaotics makes me want to reread sooo bad (we actually might buddyread together we will see) but mythology has always been a fascination for me after this as well as Hercules. If you enjoy these or any of the other posts in #sevendaysofcreativechaotics check out @creativechaotics etsy shop shes on a break right now but shes opening back up on Dec 25th and you can use my code sushirainbow for 20%off your purchase for a few days after that.
