Our car was totaled (while parked) a few months ago, so we have had no car in months. Today, I got a bike and was able to ride to the store. What freedom! I’ve never felt that a “bike” was freedom before! The contrast of life experience brings new perspective and gratitude.
I’m grateful for friends who have been so generous (giving us rides to school, you know who you are) and being understanding in ways I never dreamed. To admit you don’t have a car and don’t have the capacity to run out and buy a brand new one in that second, is humbling. Most importantly, I got to learn… Vulnerability brings the opportunity to be supported and to have your false beliefs shattered. #priceless#contrastbringgratititude#vulnerabilitybringstruth 💕
This is a milestone that has been a long time in the making. Drake has struggled with tracing for years and in the last few months he is doing it more and more, and amazingly well. This is HUGE fine motor progress. He will even draw the letters of his name independently after he traces.
This is huge because things like this must happen for him to be able to beat Apraxia. Fine motor and gross motor skills must all work together to bring about speech. Hardest working kid I know. This is only the beginning of great things for this dude.
I love the sounds he makes while he is tracing, shows how hard he is concentrating.❤️
Therapist Kelsey captured this awesome work.
