Anthony Bourdain - Kitchen Confidential. “[When I die], I will decidedly not be regretting missed opportunities for a good time. My regrets will be more along the lines of a sad list of people hurt, people let down, assets wasted and advantages squandered.”
I got an email Saturday night that @entertainmentweekly wanting to know if I wanted to write 300 words about Tony. And no big deal, they needed it early Monday. As all of you know I'm a parent with 3 kids. And I really try not to work on weekends. But the opportunity to write more about Tony was too important to turn down. I stayed up late and wrote it Sunday night. I thought it was gonna be surrounded by other people who knew Tony too. (All who knew him way better than me.) But I just picked up the magazine and it is just mine surrounded by other loving tributes to other people we lost in 2018. It is an honor to be asked to do this. And to all the people who knew Tony way better than me, I hope I did okay.
Josh Homme (frontman, Queens of the Stone Age; composed the theme song for 'Parts Unknown'): He was such a beautiful contagion. He presented such a fascinating doorway to so many other things that aren't within your narrow doorway of what you do. When it was time to write the song for his show, he sent over [Joey Ramone] doing "What a Wonderful World." And I said to him, "Are you sure you want me to do this?" And he just said, "It is a wonderful world. Isn't it?" Homme: I was saying to him, "I want my daughter to do martial arts and learn to play piano." And he said, "I don't care what she does, as long as she loves it." I thought that was beautiful, because that is the right attitude for parenting. Not to push—to help someone be who they already are and to help someone search hard enough to find who they could be.

It’s New Year’s Eve here in New Zealand so I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year and say goodbye to 2018! This year has been probably my most life changing. I traveled to some of the most exotic places I’ve ever been and made the decision to quit my job and move to the other side of the world. .
2019 is all about more life changing experiences, meeting new people, pushing all my boundaries and being as uncomfortable as possible.
Let me leave you with this quote from someone who has inspired me for a very long time. The quote is about travel but I think it applies to life in general.
“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. It changes you; it should change you” -Anthony Bourdain

Haven't been able to watch Parts Unknown since Bourdain's death. Tonight Ada watched with me like a champ, I warned her I might cry. Opening the world of culture and food to the open mind. 💕
So this is #anthonybourdain's recipe for brussel sprouts & bacon that he made for Thanksgiving. Recipe is courtesy of @foodandwine from 2014. Thought I would give it a try and glad I did. It is delicious! Miss seeing you on TV Mr. Bourdain but you live on in our hearts and minds (and my stove). RIP friend 🙏
We spent the morning adventuring with one of the elders, who was very proud that he had spent time working with #anthonybourdain on an episode about Molokai. The Hawaiian people are so expressive and it was such a pleasure to be immersed.
The cliche may be to “follow your passion”, but that’s not always the best thing. If you’re passionate about something but just will never be good at it; the fortunate ones will recognize how this makes no sense, sooner rather than later. ✨Instead, if you have a heartful understanding that you could be really good, even AWESOME at something else, & in that, can provide more than just mere competence - but a shock value of sorts, astounding and bewitching..... yea, do that. ✨
Because of his extreme talent and charisma, Anthony Bourdain was loved by many all over the world. I’m very aware that the reason my drawings of Bourdain connected with many of you has much more to do with him than it does with my art. However, I’ve been asked so many times to do another Bourdain original that I caved. I don’t plan on selling this original any time soon because I kind of regret selling the other 2 before knowing their reception & scope. However, I did put prints of this on Etsy, and like before, a portion of the proceeds will go to charity. #historiasreais#anthonybourdain#depressao#suicidio#psicologiafortaleza#facaterapia#qualidadedevida#autoconhecimento#saudemental#estabilidadeemocional#vidasaudavel#movamente

Why does this pic of Anthony Bourdain surrounded by cheese give us the major horn?

Anthony Bourdain once said “For a dinner date, I eat light all day to save room, then I go all in: I CHOOSE this meal and this order, and I CHOOSE you, the person across from me, to share it with. There is a beautiful intimacy in a meal like that”.
Sometimes there is a misconception about replacing meals🥘with shakes🥤and the truth is, I eat more than you think I do, mini meals, snacks, squeezing in extra protein however I can.
It’s a lifestyle to be healthy. It’s not a diet, it’s not a quick fix. It’s a balance. It’s okay to eat the cha gio and 🍲☕️Vietnamese coffee when you’re feeling it!
I❤️to eat! That’s how I ended up where I was before I got healthy.
If you love something, don’t tell yourself you can’t have it, that’s just setting a limitation on your life and that’s not fair to you!
If you’re finally ready to take charge of your life and health and be able to eat your favorite meal from time to time, DM me! I’m ready to help!
