If we learned anything from 2018, it’s that you all REALLY have a thing for bedrooms and that the #projectbrightandbreezy living room is still a solid favorite (and we don’t blame you 🙌🏻)! Swipe through to see our top 5 from last year!
We’re back in the office today diving back into projects and catching up on all our post-holiday emails (heavily caffeinated, of course). 2018 was a HUGE year for both of us - and for this business of ours - and we couldn’t be more thankful! Heading into 2019 SO ready for all the growth and new adventures it has to offer 💪🏻✨. // 📷: @christinemichellephotography
Is there anything better than a fresh cut bouquet delivered to your doorstep in the dead of winter?! No. The answer is no. Well maybe french fries.
Ringing in the New Year with this “you rock” bouquet from @thebouqsco and it’s making my bathroom smell like a freakin’ English garden. (Insert heart nostrils emoji here) #bouqslove#bouqspartner
This is last year’s Valentines Day decor and I think it’s definitely time to get those pretty pink velvet pillows out again. I’m feeling thankful that February has a special little love day thrown right in the middle of it and looking forward to doing a little bit of decorating and a craft project for it this weekend. 💕 #loveisintheair

Alright alright folks, the REVEAL of our powder room remodel is on the blog! This is a small room that packs a big punch! I mean, look at that gorgeous wall tile! And that wall mount faucet! And that concrete vessel sink! We moved the location of the previous powder room, shifting it over a few feet and re-working the footprint. Swipe for before and during shots. It is quite the transformation!

Siempre los detalles en madera añaden un toque orgánico, natural y de color a todo ambiente, también traen balance a la vista resaltando las áreas más altas de este pasamanos con diseño estilo victoriano. .
Yep, that’s me🙋🏼♀️. Not a glamour shot, but irl during a recent photo shoot at our Balmy Beach Club project. I don’t like having my photo taken. I am quite shy and a true introvert, and usually take terrible photos🤓. Some people are naturally photogenic.
I show up every day, but seldom on Instagram. I am challenging myself to come out and share more of the magic that takes place behind the curtain, in person.
I look forward to seeing more of you💁🏼♀️! .

As a toddler, I would flip through the pages of @houseandhomemag with my Grandma, pointing out which chairs I would most like to sit on. When I was old enough, I would spend every weekend rearranging my bedroom furniture or forcing my parents to redecorate our home if I thought it needed a refresh. As a teenager, I was addicted to The Sims game, but would spend hours designing the characters’ homes instead of playing the actual game. And in high school, my parents bought me professional interior design software where I could scheme up different versions of my dream home, perfecting every room.
Somewhere between having this obsession for design as a young kid and being a young adult trying to decide what I wanted to do when I grew up, I missed the memo that my childhood passion could in fact be an adult profession. So I went to university and worked hard to graduate with an exciting career in the medical field. And while I love my current profession for so many reasons, I’ve recently realized that it leaves me feeling creatively unfulfilled.
It wasn’t until my husband and I built our first home together that I remembered just how excited I got when I was immersed in a design project I was passionate about. It re-lit this fire in me that I forgot was even there. Call me re-obsessed. So finally after a few years of self-reflection, a lot of browse-time at @homesensecanada, and a little kick in the pants from my family and friends, I signed up for an interior design program with @theinteriordesigninstitute. I am ecstatic to finally learn the true foundations of what is already such an innate passion of mine, and am so excited to see where this rediscovered love leads me.
And to whoever actually read all this and is still with me, I encourage you to start paying attention; to start noticing the things you are naturally drawn to in your life, or were naturally drawn to as a kid; to start trusting that whatever brings you joy is always available for you to pursue further; and to remind you that your profession may not necessarily be your passion, but that your passion could still, one day, turn into your profession.
Soooo... something really exciting happened! I just hit 300 sales on my Etsy shop and I am so incredibly excited and grateful! I remember being super pumped when I hit 10 sales...50 sales...100 sales etc and now 300 feels unreal! I didn’t even get my bed made this morning before this monkey was making a mess somewhere else... This morning I shared Archer licking the mirror in my stories and received so many messages about making people laugh or smile, and it’s actually those messages that make ME smile to know we’ve brightened someone’s day 💕
Did you catch the looong story of this faucet? The one that took a year and a half to complete from order to install?! 🤦♀️ It’s pretty epic so I added it to my highlights under Kitchen. If you’re looking for some entertainment and don’t mind chuckling at some serious first world problems go check it out!

Sometimes you get bored of your own house in photos. This year, I want to post more interesting angles and avoid photographing the same room a bunch of times in a row! Little update over here, finally after months of needing it, I finally put a second coat on the walls in Camila’s room. I can finally hang curtains, which I’ll probably do tomorrow. I think the next step to take these rooms to the next level would be to switch out these HIDEOUS blinds and replace with bamboo roman shades. Also switching out the doorknobs will make a huge difference too. Matte black or matte brass knobs?

One of Tims college friends messaged me and told me a story from back in their college days at SLO. She said a group of them were watching The Notebook and Tim said “that’s what I’m going to do, build my wife a house!” It meant so much to me that she shared that story and so thankful for my husbands character, hardest worker I know! I will add to that story that building your own home, much like most dreams, definitely comes with a lot more work and sacrifice than it appears on The Notebook or these little squares! Definitely a Labor of Love.

When you see shots of your lovely customers beyond beautiful homes with rugs you’ve sourced!!! This room couldn’t look more perfect @annawestinteriors I have a few other neutral Heriz rugs like this so DM me if you’re searching for one ☺️💕
Nashville weather has been so awful the past week! Between the rain and cloudy skies, I can’t remember the last time I saw the sun. This bathroom by @sarahshermansamuel is a breath of fresh air on a gloomy day.

From I’ve seen so far, Scandinavian, Boho (with lots of plants and baskets), and rustic-industrial are the most popular decor styles in this area....or a combination of all 3. And pink, gray, brown/burnt orange (big time!) are very popular colors. I never pay attention to trends... just buy things that I like regardless of what’s “in”... but it is interesting to see the similarities and differences in style between here and the States. How about you?...do you follow trends? Which style are you currently drawn the most?
