PART 2 - HOW I REVISE FOR EXAMS
Flashcards and summary documents! A huge part of my revision is making and practicing with flashcards and also using summary documents.
Flashcards - I use flashcards for pretty much anything, remembering legal tests, cases and facts that I need to know. Also I find them really helpful for remembering the dates of legislation. I learn well by using repetition, so flashcards are ideal for me. I use flashcards in a variety of different ways - I either put a question on one side and the answer on another, or just a case name on one side and a description on another. I sometimes even use just one side of the flashcard to note down a fact or a summary that I cannot really make into a Q&A feature.
After making my flashcards for each topic I then continue to test myself on them and get my family and friends to test me too. The process of just recalling this information over and over really helps me remember. I then tend to make two piles - one of all of the cards that I remember and one of the cards that I do not remember as well. I then just keep testing myself on those I cannot remember as well until I know them all.
Another great tip is to shuffle your cards to ensure you are not just remembering the order of the answers. This can help test your ability to recall information from an array of different topics at once.
Now for summary documents, so as I mentioned in my previous post, I always make one huge document of everything I need to know. I then go on to make summary, shorter documents often written by hand which just summarise and condense the information down. I do not tend to write in full sentences and just use key words to remember certain parts of the course. Again, pictures and diagrams are always a key part of these summary documents too. I tend to try and fit one chapter on one A4 piece of paper, and this just combines all of the information into a condensed format. It means that once you feel confident with the flashcards and main document, you can use this to consolidate that information and the very task of creating these documents helps you recall it too.
I hope this helps! Tune in tomorrow for past papers.
I wrote this reminder down, inspired by a Tumblr post, but it made me put things into perspective and helped motivate me when school got rough 😅 anyway I hope you're having a lovely day today!!

A big day for our IES students in Brisbane today! We wish you all the best for the future!
This past July we had a group of students from Basque Country, a community in Spain. The young students were visiting the beautiful city of San Francisco. Our families gave them a warm welcome and students were very happy to interact with our hosts.
