On our first day in Tanzania (after sleeping only 2 hours but thats a whole other story) we woke up at sunrise because we heard some noise outside our tent. Turns out this whole family of elephants was having breakfast next to us ✨
Winter is coming. (Seriously though how excited is everyone for Game of Thrones on April 14th?) photo: @j_syrjala

I think it’s important to reflect not just how society deems our years worthy and goals met, but how we ourselves do.
I traveled to some amazing places in 2018...
+ Sri Lanka
+ Kerala, India
+ Japan (twice)
+ Tennessee (Memphis and Nashville)
+ London + Paris + Provence + Barcelona
+ California coast
+ California wine country
And I loved it all. But what matters most to me goes beyond just where I journeyed last year.
A heartfelt and personal recap of 2018 is now live on the blog.
I invite you to read and reflect and perhaps join me in a bit of hibernation this month.
Would love to hear about your intentions (and travel plans!) for this year 💛
My bucket list is about a mile long, which I think is a great thing. If I'm ever feeling a little down, or feel like I need that extra push, I read over my bucket list and I'm instantly happy.
Things like traveling to foreign and far away places, trying new things like surfing (even though I'm terrified to be IN the water) or floating away in a hot air balloon. I'd love to hike many more mountains and hear the waves crashing in all of the oceans. I want to see as many countries as possible and try foods from different cultures.
I think my bucket list also serves as my life goal list. If I can achieve or experience even half of the things I've written down, I think one day when it's time, I'll die a very happy lady. Not to sound depressing or anything, I just know when I'm older I'll look back on my life with a smile on my face and have no regrets.
What's at the top of your bucket list?
Happy New Year everyone! I know it’s a little late but we started the year off roaming around in the van and it’s been nice to take a little break from posting. This was how the first few days of my 2019 looked. I’ve never seen so much snow in my life!
