AM I DREAMING!?
This is our number one favorite drone photo we've ever taken! From worst to our BEST DAY in the Philippines. .
Honestly, we expected to visit a hospital today. 😂 Instead we woke up without a fever so took the shot and did the tour. Zero regrets😍
After being sick for 48+ hours, @elnidoboutiqueartcafe dragged us out of our beds and showed us El Nido's beauty. ♥️
Paradise has never been about a place, it exists in the moments you create 💫✨

Commence adventure in T-minus 45 hours. ✈️
In the meantime, I’ll be scrambling to book Airbnbs, plot restaurants and landmarks on my Google map, finish reading all the Cuba books I bought for culture prep, cram all my stuff into a carry on, and hit the gym at least two more times. 😬
Cuba is forcing me out of my comfort zone before I even arrive. Honestly, most of my trips are very last-minute, and I hardly do any planning before I board a plane. I do a lot of my research along the way, map-searching nearby restaurants with good reviews, browsing available hotels for the night, Googling the history of a landmark as I look at it, meeting strangers who convince me I should change plans and reroute myself....
But I won’t be able to do any of that without a phone or internet or way to use a credit card in Cuba, hence all this chaos to get plans organized before my leave.
I’m definitely feeling the stress of forcing myself to plan this much in advance, but I’m sure it’s good for me, and who knows — maybe some of these travel prep habits will stick. 🤷🏽♀️
What’s your style of traveling? Are you a last-minute, go-with-the-flow, research-along-the-way type? Or more of the minute-by-minute-itinerary-prepped-three-months-before-takeoff type? 😆
EXCITED! Flights are booked and in two weeks I’ll be back in India for the worlds largest festival! If you haven’t heard of #KumbhMela before, here are a few facts and I can’t wait to share it.
✅ The Hindu festival is focused around pilgrims bathing in the sacred rivers
✅ Around 120 million pilgrims come to bathe between January - March
✅ On the busiest days, when I’ll attend, there are an estimated 30 MILLION visitors per day!
✅ A city of tents is built (hiya next level camping) to accommodate many of the pilgrims ✅ The Kumb Mela is held every 12 years, in four different locations - I’ll be attending the Prayagraj (Allahabad)

A little #tbt to our time spent in the insanely beautiful Acadia National Park. We woke up in the middle of the night (3 AM) to watch the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain and then spent the entire morning exploring the park almost exclusively by ourselves. 🌿🌊

✨IG vs REALITY✨The first photo is of me relaxing on a beautiful beach in Coron. Not a care in the world, salty hair, sand between my toes, enjoy life and getting that instagram photo 😂 The second photo is me dying on a 14hr flight from South Korea to NYC. The culprit of the bug is a salad at the airport in Cebu. It hit me on our 4hr flight leaving Cebu heading to Seoul. Then really hit me during our 4hr layover. Then REALLY REALLY hit me on our 14hr flight back home!! Anyways the point of the story is everyone’s life is not as perfect as it may seem on Instagram. We are REAL people that encounter not so perfect “insta worthy” moments in life. I think most people INCLUDING US get too wrapped up in portraying this perfect life on the gram and one of our 2019 goals is to show you guys more of our real not so curated selfs!! When was the last time you had a not so “insta worthy” moment?

While everyone is posting #tenyearchallenge photos, I will post this from about 10 years ago. When I asked locals who were travel agents what I should do in Denver, they all told me that there's nothing to do and I must escape Denver to see Garden of the Gods. I absolutely loved exploring this park and climbing rocks not too far away in Colorado Springs. I also explored the Cave of the Winds in the nearby old town of Manitou Springs. Go!
Madrid really took us by surprise. We were not quite sure what to expect but we absolutely fell in love with the city. We originally planned to only stay 4 nights but after a few days we knew we had to extend our stay. We would end up staying in Madrid for 10 nights and wish we could have stayed for 100 more! There is so much to see and do we feel like we barely scratched the surface. The people were amazing, the food was delicious, and who doesn't love a good siesta. Afterall, we hardly need an excuse to stop and enjoy a beer and a snack.🍻 Have you ever travelled somewhere with little to no expectations just to be blown away? If so, where?
We got up super early to catch the sunrise at Lake Bohinj, and we definitely weren't disappointed!
I will say this though, I was absolutely freezing my ass off! My poor Aussie body was not prepared at all 😂 So thankful we had a car with heating to defrost in afterwards ❄❄❄

“Fear and hate will be the end of us, but empathy, love and collaboration...that is what will propel us forward as a society.”— @jessica_lanyadoo // There’s a lot of weird stuff happening in the world right now, I’m holding onto this quote and living by it every day.
