💥 I qualified for North American, Asia Pacific, Trifecta, and...
  • It is officially off-season for me. 2018 has been one hell of a race year! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💥 I qualified for North American, Asia Pacific, Trifecta, and Ultra World Championships this year, only missing Worlds in Tahoe, (someday!) ✈️ I raced in the Philippines, Greece, Malaysia, and Japan. 🔥 I placed top 10 AG in all my sprints (except 1) and top 5 AG in stadiums, which was my focus for 2018. 🥇 1st place AG in the US stadium series. 5️⃣th Place AG in the US Mountain series. 💜 Got my 11th ultra buckle. 4️⃣ Trifectas earned; I forgot to pick up my medal though🤣 🏃🏻‍♀️ Improved my running mechanics and aerobic fitness. No injuries. Speed & distance will come. 😃 I met so many new friends all over the world! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had so much fun this year. Huge thank you to @newbreedfitnesshq, @vitaathletics, @diazhp, and @yancycampofficial for making me the athlete I am today, and to everyone for the love and support! 2019 will only get better!

  • so...........apparently i fractured a rib 🤦🏻‍♀️🏥➡️ earlier this evening, i felt a sort of “pop” in my chest and the pain worsened when i moved my right arm. i decided to head to urgent care to figure out what was wrong. • the doctor ordered some chest x-rays, but he said it was unlikely that i had fractured anything without taking a direct hit to the chest. he was more focused on it being a torn or strained muscle since i workout a lot. • when the results came in, he was was really surprised to find that i indeed DID fracture a rib. so now i’m in a rib belt for a few weeks 🤷🏻‍♀️ #costalcartilagefracture #happytuesday #happyholidays #spartanrace #spartanba18

  • Well here we are, the Spartan Race Ultra World Championships!! I never imagined that I would be part of something so epic and incredible, yet so painfully defeating and exhausting at the same time. This was a wonderful experience and I hope to be able to do it once again next year. 33.19 miles completed in 19 hours and 20 minutes gives you that priceless belt buckle, and equally priceless face Im making 😂 . . This was honestly the toughest race Ive ever endured...which instantly makes it a favorite in my Spartan OCR career. 4 laps of the same course are both a good and a bad thing. For one you know what to expect and how to manage grip, leg and arm strength obstacle-wise. You can pace yourself and prepare mentally for what's coming. Unfortunately you also know the pain that's coming as well. The second sandbag carry was the toughest I've ever done...but no pain no gain eh? During these 19 hours I found myself delirious and weirdly in a super happy mood, with hours of random songs going over and over in my head. But what I learned on that course, is what my mind and body are capable of when faced with a situation that simply HAS to be done. No retreat, no surrender. That is Spartan Law. AROO!!! . . Thank you for all of you that have supported me and cheered me on in this insane hobby where we pay to get tortured (like wtf???) And a special thank you to @ja.nellerose for ALWAYS being there for and with me this past year to fight through all the obstacles on the course and off. Puppy, I'm 100% sure that I wouldn't have been able to do this without you. That buckle is dedicated to your wonderful self. My medal collection may have been lighter and my level of regret higher if it wasn't for your motivating words placed at the most needed times.   • Tested my deadlift today... big realization from the get go... 4 bills in my hands felt heavvvvvvv. In fact, 405 just barely got up there. But i knew i had better in me. 425... failed. After some self talk, some adjusting of grip and tension 425 flew off the ground on my 2nd attempt. And just for the sake of it... i attempted my previous max of 440. I am not that disappointed in a 425 pull. I think some of it is a result of just not consistently lifting heavy. Some of it is from straining my lat at the end of September. And finally my fitness goals were geared toward endurance and rehab for so long. It makes sense and overall I am pleased. Still plenty of time to train and get these numbers back up. Bench ended up at 265, which is ten off my comp lift there too. So total is 20 lbs down from my meet last year at 1035lbs. A little over three months to train.... First benchmark test with @leaderboard_fit complete! I'm not super satisfied with my results, but that just means there is tons of room for growth! My 60 lb bag of sand burst open as soon as I started so it was an awkward carry as I held the hole shut.   • Thanks @firstcitycrossfit for hosting Jay-Apalooza on Saturday. A Miami-themed team Competition to Support Coach Jay Fernandez Trip to @thewodapalooza .🏋🏽‍♂️🔥💪🏽. . I barely learned of the event the day before, so I showed up to Support. I didn’t have a team, but came early anyways just in case they needed an extra person.😅 . Fortunately There was a team of Two needing a person. “bandit & the Cripple”.... @greg.carnazza , Jay, and now me.🤪 . The Last time I competed was during the @crossfitgames Open. So I knew it was going to be Rough. I Felt great during lightweights and moving fast, but couldn’t get any big Numbers or move the heavy weights.😣 . Regardless of the Results We did our best & I’m reminded me How much I Still have to Learn after 1 year of CrossFit.🤔 Still it was amazing watching my Teammates fighting for Every Rep till the end & Also watching my fellow @cf_hyperactive athletes & cheering them on during their Wods. .
