Calling bullshit on every
film/television depiction of birth I’ve ever seen. Specifically, the most common one of a cis woman screaming & cursing like a sailor while being wheeled through a hospital lobby, then pushing out a baby laying flat on her back in three pushes.
Please don’t buy into Hollywood’s version of birth.
Move, breathe, have boundaries, and
make your birth your own. ———————————————————

It looks like these are the only glasses you will be seeing on this little lady for right now🤓 •
She got her eyes checked today because of some concerns we had and turns out she just has a “false cross” and some farsightedness. The doctor thinks she will grow out of both but we will have regular check ups to make sure those beautiful eyes are making progress🧡
#colaboracionradical#colaboracion#historiasdecoworkers#documentalvolver#inclusion#wheeltheworld#makeadifference#turismoinclusivo

A thing or three you can learn from British-born Nigerian actress Beverly Ifunaya Bassey, popularly known as #BeverlyNaya@thebeverlynaya who
begun acting at age 17. With her relentless zeal, proceeded to study script-writing and film-making at Roehampton University after studying philosophy, psychology and sociology at Brunel University because she had a strong conviction that she had to be an actress!
In 2010,she won the Most Promising Talent category at the 2010 Best of Nollywood Awards, and in 2011, she was named the "fastest rising actress" in the City People Entertainment Awards in Nigeria. By 2014, Beverly launched a campaign titled ‘Fifty Shades of Black’, aimed at inspiring young girls to feel confident about themselves and skin colour.
Her relocation from England to Nigeria has been questioned severally and to this, she says: "After I graduated from university, I just knew that I wanted to act, and in London I could shoot a film probably once in a year and that's it. Whereas coming to this industry, I can build a brand as well as shoot films more often and be given a more diverse amount of scripts. So, I decided to come back for that reason". Beverly has starred in quite a number of productions including #theweddingparty and #NdaniTV’s @ndanitv#Skinnygirlintransit.
A building open to all that is not quite accessible....
- The tension between words and actions is all too real in our schools and in our communities 🥺 - When we cannot change the BIG things, we can make sure our actions are inclusive🌟. - Language, accessibility of resources/materials, providing choices, and collaboration are all simple actions we can take to start reducing the tensions🙌.
The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) joins the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) in its disappointment of CBS News lack of #inclusion of Black reporters on their 2020 Election news team.
As a community which will be key in determining the next president of the #USA, it is imperative that media outlets have a diverse newsroom, with Black journalists, people of color in decision making positions in front of and behind the camera to address what’s most relevant to the emerging multicultural majority.

This cycle our Support of Project Management students in LC Aspire created amazing DEI focused presentations. They were tasked with initiating, planning executing, controlling and closing project processes.
The end goal was to create a 3-5 min training video on the subject of “what does diversity, equity and inclusion mean to Year Up community.” That did an amazing job! 👏 👏 👏
