It was all good just a week ago.
Now I’m doing laundry that was left since last week 😐, watching that darn Peppa Pig, and being forced to Christmas shop. I wouldn’t trade mommyhood for the world, but I sure do miss the beach right about now.
Home from ATL.GA now after a couple of wakeful flights and de-lag day yesterday. Good memories of REALLY friendly people, pick-up trucks and Dodge Challengers everywhere Fox Bros barbecue and this little bauble making the Freedom Trail Pathway a little festive. Enjoyed the #sysklive Christmas hometown show. #Atlanta#sysk@syskpodcast@josh_um_clark@moviecrushpod Merry Christmas Chuck, Josh, Jeri and the #howstuffworks family.

December 15, 1939: The morning of the film's premiere found the film's cast scattered all over the city at various events, so as to getnerate as much press attention as possible. n Grant Park, Gable, Leigh, and deHavilland appeared for a tour of the Cyclorama painting at Grant Park, all while under the gaze of newspapers, film crews, and screaming fans so as to promote the film as much as possible. The Cyclorama, then located in a Grant Park building of white stone and ionic columns--now relocated to the Atlanta History Center where it wil reopen next year--was one of just two Cyclorama paintings in the United States. The painting, 42 feet tall and 358 feet long, was displayed in a cylindrical museum space into which visitors would enter from the floor. Immersing them in the painting of the Battle of Atlanta were three-dimensional sculptures of soldiers and railroad tracks and batteries which stood between them and the painting surrounding them. After stepping into this enormous, enveloping display, the visitors from Hollywood were whisked upstairs to a private luncheon held on the museum’s upper floor by the mayor and city council. After the luncheon, the Hollywood stars were even more quickly driven away to the Governor’s Mansion in Ansley Park, where even more adulating fans awaited, craning for a glimpse of the real-life Rhett Butler and Scarlett O’Hara exiting their cars and entering the mansion. The mansion, decorated in its traditional over-the-top holiday style with plastic reindeer seeming to ascend to the sky with Santa’s sleigh behind, was located just a few blocks from Margaret Mitchell’s apartment on One South Prado. Here, Leigh, Gable, Lombard, deHavilland, Olivier, the Selznicks, Rutherford, and the governors of Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, and Tennessee would join Georgia’s Governor Rivers for an afternoon tea. I love this so much! So fun! “Tell people what they want to hear and then do what you want” “Own the room - it’s always yours if you want it to be”
