When you hear there’s pizza at the finish line 🏃🏻♀️ 🏃🏻♀️
Proud of this team, we had a blast out there! Lots of blood, sweat, tears and training when you don’t feel like it behind every race. So lucky to be able to share these memories with such great people. #spartan#aroo#spartansunite#goodbye
..Mile 6 of 15:
Me: “My leg is cramping.”
Team: “Ok, stretch it this way..”
Me: “..now both legs are cramping!” *leave me to die*
Mid-2018, Team Scrambled Legz (lulz) had the idea of completing the Spartan Trifecta (one each of 5, 10 & 15 mile races in 1 year). 6 months and hundreds of travel miles later, it became a reality for us. Finishing with the Central Florida Beast weekend, three of us did 15 miles on Day 1, and joined 7 others for 5 miles on Day 2. I can’t believe just how deconditioned I was this time around compared to my September race (10 miles), but I am changing up my training and will be doing competitive runs in 2019. I’m happy to have reached #trifectatribe status, but the best part of the weekend was watching Team Scrambled Legz grow from 2 to 10 within 3 months. AROO!
This was right after I threw up going uphill for the sandbag obstacle. It’s an unflattering photo but that’s the beauty of Spartan. No one is there to judge you and I just kept on going. The only obstacle you really have to conquer is yourself.
In the past few months, I fell back into my dark place of drinking and not taking care of myself. I lost myself again and it was affecting my relationship with Nick. I am so thankful for him to stick by my side and help me find myself again. I owe you the world my love.
Here’s to anyone going thru hard times, depression, anxiety, addiction. I know all about it first hand. I am here if anyone ever wants to talk. Take care of yourself! Life is too short to not enjoy every aspect life has to offer.
This Spartan race reminded me how much I love to race and to stay healthy and fit. In 2019 I am going to commit to more races and taking care of myself mentally and physically. We all have it in us. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 @spartan@spartanrace#aroo#spartan#spartanrace#spartansprint#spartancastaic2018#epictribe#race#family#healthy#fit#selflove#keepgoing#strong#sandbagcarry#2019hereicome
If anyone told me a year ago that I would snag myself a Spartan Trifecta at age 42, I would have belly laughed so hard and walked away. But here I am, so happy and proud and grateful of this achievement at this stage in my life! I didn’t set out to do this a year ago or six months ago—- I decided to go for my Trifecta 2 months ago! Did my first Sprint at the end of August, my Super at the end of October, and at that point decided to bust it out and finish big at the Central Florida Beast last weekend!
I couldn’t be happier and I have my children to thank. They have been my source of strength all these years, but in the past year I have learned to be my own well of strength and I dedicate each race, each medal to each of my three beautiful children. Thank you for giving me the strength to get me here, and I now have the strength to get us through anything we will need to face down the line. I will carry you, as I always have, but with a renewed strength and an unbreakable spirit! My journey has been something else and the past year of making better choices to make my body heart and mind stronger has been so unbelievably rewarding. Big thanks to my husband and kids for the love and support!
My heart is so full, especially from the support and encouragement of certain people around me, all those who have shared their enthusiasm and positive words and happy vibes, it has meant a lot- and you know who you are! #AROO#spartan#spartanrace#momma#strongmomma#pinay#trifectatribe@spartan@spartanwomen@spartanraceph
ROPE CLIMB workout to engage the CORRECT muscles. Remember, it isn’t about who lifts the heaviest for obstacle completion BUT who strengthens and uses the right muscles! We did 10 min ( 1 min rope ups/down, 1 min of jump rope) before we got into our AMRAP at OCRBYJENNIFER class today 💪🏼 #squirrel4life#ultratraining#mentaltraining
The central Florida BEAST was 34 obstacles spread over 14 miles of rugged Florida terrain. I had a blast suffering with these guys, and I will definitely be doing it again.
Also big shout out to @peyyyhalpin for standing around 4 hours to get these awsome pictures!
