Heres another shot I really liked from yesterdays incredible sunset haboob as it swallowed up the tiny town of Tacna, AZ with a population of 602 people. Shot this with a 24-70mm lens because I still cannot find my damn 16-35mm lens after weeks of looking around my house for it! Probably just need to suck it up and make the trip over to Tempe Camera to scoop up another one.... 🤷🏻♂️ #supportyourlocalcamerashop#CanonLove
Planning to release my latest time-lapse movie “The Invitation” tomorrow. Finalizing one last aspect before it’s ready. This shot was captured Sept 2, looking across the Wilcox Dry Lake Bed, west towards the electrical power plant. #azmonsoon#lightning#stormclouds#lrtimelapse#azwx#wilcoxaz
Sunset on Aug 22, on I-8, just west of Gila Bend, Arizona. The skies lit up so colorfully from West to East. I did almost nothing to the colors in the photo except to pull some details out of the shadows. Love our Arizona Monsoon sunsets! #azwx#azmonsoon#stormclouds
August 8 I chased/followed this Monsoon storm cell as it began, grew and finally died, with a burst of awesome electrical activity. Boom! This is a still frame from a time-lapse sequence I’ve included in my upcoming film, The Invitation. #azwx#stormclouds#azmonsoon#lightning

Spectacular sunset during a Monsoon storm, over Phoenix, Arizona. What a great season this year and so much fun to have this new view to see it from! #azwx#midtownphoenix#azmonsoon

Arizona butterfly party back in Sept of this year. When out hiking in the desert around water, you’ll come to these conglomerations of butterflies from time to time crowding around spots that have minerals in the damp sand. This year we saw a few of these really dense groups and I took a break from reptile finding to shoot some invertebrates 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️.
Been processing thousands of photos taken during this year’s Monsoon in Arizona, and found this little gem that I had somehow missed. Being without a decent computer for many months now, I have an enormous backlog to plow through. It’s like visiting old friends that I haven’t seen for a while! Captured Aug 9, near New River, Arizona. #azwx#azmonsoon#clouds#newriveraz#lightning
It does indeed rain in the desert. We have 2 monsoon seasons in Scottsdale — summer & winter. When there’s a monsoon storm, rain pours from the sky as of from giant buckets. Minutes later, the skies are clear & blue. Last spring the desert blooms were pretty pathetic due to almost non-existent monsoons the year prior. Many cactus were shriveled up and dying from thirst. This year, however, Hurricane Rosa sent rain all the way to AZ. That led to one of the rainiest October’s in Scottsdale on record & a very pleasant fall. I bet spring 2019 is going to be bursting with beautiful flowers. And that’s my little lesson on Arizona weather for today! How’s the weather where you live this time of year? 🌵🌸🌵🌸🌵🌸
This is so me during the #azsummer#azmonsoon#azfall#justanyday really. What makes it worse are the shower after showers I have to take which only make me more exhausted & sweaty 🤦♀️. We just never win do we? 😫
