they invite you in to add to the art but first you have to take off your shoes and put on a pair of slippers. the floor is sticky with pastels, it feels a bit like walking on toffee. you look for an empty spot where you can sneak your message in small and unobtrusive but there isn’t one.
to add to the art you have to destroy a bit of what someone who came before you drew, you have to carve out a little space on top of the pastels that are caked on top of each other...so you do.
"Black color timer" These many black circles. Looking closely, the face is drawn. It is a portrait of a worker engaged in the field after the accident at Fukushima Dai-ichi NPS. This is the view from Mori Arts Center in Roppongi. The city looks so tiny from the 52nd floor.
Being there made me think of my dreams, what I have already achieved, and where I want to be next.
I think everyone deserves a moment like that every now and then 😌✨
