  • #TAKEOVER: "@Tony.Hewitt 's work is renowned all over the world. As with Scott, Tony’s work has to be seen to be believed. His ability to see the abstracts in the natural landscape, capture them on camera, and then display those for the world to see is amazing. The uniques way he uses poetry to communicate and explain his imagery is truly inspiring and has allowed me to see the natural world in another light." - @jordancantelo, our guest curator this week.

  • #TAKEOVER: "@ScottJonPhotography is one of the most talented photographers I know. The way he is able to capture images, and then engage with those who view his work is something to behold. He sees the world in a way I do not believe many do and consequently is capturing it in a way that allows those who would ordinarily never see it, to now see it. Scott continuously raises the bar of aerial photography not only in Australia but on an international level. His work is absolutely exquisite. He inspires me to see things and engage with the natural world in a way I did not think possible." - @jordancantelo, our guest curator this week.

  • #TAKEOVER: "The forecast was solid all week for thunderstorms to develop mid-afternoon on yet another very hot summer day in the wheatbelt region. So I headed towards the town of Dowerin to be in position by sunset. The forecast did not disappoint. Right as the clouds were soaking up the colours of the setting sun, the sky erupted into a visual spectacle. The slow-moving system seemed to sit stationary just to the north of my position right through twilight. The mix of fluorescent lightning backdropped by the most incredible sunset was out of this world. An evening I will never forget." - @jordancantelo, our guest curator this week. • #TAKEOVER: "Storms were forecast to develop well east of Perth on this scorcher of a summers day. With this in mind, my car was packed so when I finished at the office I could take off and head straight to where the storms were predicted to get firing. And then right on sunset, they did. The cloud structure soaked in the the colours of sunset to produce one of the most magnificent displays I have seen out in the Wheatbelt." - @jordancantelo, our guest curator this week. • #TAKEOVER: " With high based storms forecasted to develop to the north of Perth and track southwards, I headed towards one of my favourite locations to shoot coastal storms, Yanchep Lagoon. The storms didn’t kick off until very early in the morning, but when they did they were amazing. Being a fairly slow-moving system, I decided to shoot with a zoom telephoto lens. The 70-200mm f2.8L USM II was the perfect lens to capture this storm with. I initially started shooting at 200mm and slowly opened that up as the cells moved right towards me down the coastline. The yellow lights in the frame provided a brilliant leading line to mother natures amazing electrical show." - @jordancantelo, our guest curator this week. • #TAKEOVER: "An eventful day chasing thunderstorms through the lower wheatbelt region of Western Australia. After being recently serviced, my car’s clutch decided to stop working. The delay meant I had to sit stationary for a few hours as help was on its way from Perth. Unbeknownst to me, the delay meant I was now in the exact spot where un-forecasted storms were to develop later in the night. As my brother turned up just after sunset, thunderstorms could be seen on the horizon starting to flash away. We got the problem fixed and then moved a couple of kilometres down the road to an area that provided great views of the approaching storms. I set up the camera and managed to capture the lightning as it lit up the clouds. The structure of the clouds was incredible with small highlights of turquoise blue/greens indicating that hail was also present. An amazing way to finish a very eventful day." - @jordancantelo, our guest curator this week. Shot on a EOS 5D Mark II ISO 400 | f/7.1 | 20s

  • #TAKEOVER: "Hi, my name is @JordanCantelo and I specialize in severe weather photography, in particular capturing thunderstorms around the Wheatbelt, Midwest & beyond. The 11-24mm lens came into its own league during this remarkable evening. With the forecast looking very favourable for strong thunderstorm development in the eastern Kimberley, I had to hit the road in Broome at 4am if I had any chance of reaching the port town of Wyndham 1000km away in time for the show. I got to 5 Rivers Lookout and that is when things really started to ramp up. I set the cameras up and managed to capture the storm as it moved over the tidal flats and as the sun dipped below the horizon." - @jordancantelo, our guest curator this week. • "Truly, this 24mm f/1.4L II lens’ optics are some of the best from a Canon lens. It’s not so much the sharpness (though it is) it’s the 'feel' of the images, the 3D look you achieve on a wide-angle portrait that’s near impossible with any similar lenses at f/4 or 5.6. The colour rendition is superb, and the way the lens handles contrast and flare just adds to every image you make." - @mygearphoto Shot on a EOS 6D Mark II and EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM Lens
